UCD SSC Presents: Intro to Arduino Prototyping in Simulation
Overview:
Hacker Lab has teamed up with the UC Davis Student Startup Center to bring you this virtual offering as part of SSC's Virtual Startup Week.Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive electronics projects.
In this hands-on 3 hour workshop we’ll learn how to program our microcontrollers using the Arduino development environment. We’ll cover a variety of different common sensors, actuators, motors, buttons, lights, and more.
What is covered in this class is heavily influenced by those who attend, and the instructor may adjust the class content accordingly.
As this course will be taught remotely attendees can either use their own physical Arduino (with whatever sensors and electronics they have) or follow along in TinkerCAD's Arduino simulator (https://www.tinkercad.com/circuits
If you will be using your own hardware, please ensure you have the Arduino IDE installed ( https://www.arduino.cc/en/
We'll Cover:
Learn the basics of Arduino programming
Analog and digital I/O and the basics of using a microcontroller
Build circuits that utilize sensors and output devices that allow the microcontroller to react to its environment
How to use the Arduino open source community to get help with their own Projects
