Intro to 3D Printing
What You'll Learn
This class provides hands-on training in 3D Printing and rapid prototyping. This class focuses on Hacker Lab's Monoprice and Tazbot 6 3D printers as well as the the Cura slicer program. We will also cover the filaments you can use, their care, and what other types are available.
While strongly geared towords certifying Hacker Lab members to use Hacker Lab's 3D printing lab, this class is also appropriate for non-members who just want an overview of whats involved in using a desktop 3D printer - while the information is tailored to our printers, the high-level concepts are applicable to most printers.

Important Information
- It is strongly recommended that you download and install the Lulzbot version of cura (links below) on your laptop, and bring said laptop, so you can follow along during this class, however not required (okay to just take notes).

- For Linux users, click here, and figure it out (we suggest using the app-image version over the distro's repository versions)
- Please make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early and sign our general release of liability agreement.
- Masks must be worn correctly while inside the facility.
- Do not come into the Lab if you have a cough, fever, or feel sick in the past 14 days.
- Please note: this class does not cover use of the Markforged Mark 2 printer. If you would like to use the Mark 2 after being certified on the regular FDM printers, please reach out to classes@hackerlab.org to schedule a session.
