About This Class

For those who have some TIG welding experience, and want to continue with your learning, sign up for this class.  (Please don't sign up for this if you Just Took the "Intro to TIG Welding" class!  You need some personal project time to get a feel for the welding process.) This class is for people who've tried a little welding on their own (or a lot!) and have questions they want help with.  Thomas Ramey is a long-time welder and artist, and can share a lot to help you with your technique.

PLEASE READ BELOW FOR THE RECOMMENDED CLOTHING TO WEAR TO CLASS.This class has a $10 materials fee built into the price.

 

How to Prepare

Wear 100% cotton pants (jeans) and a long sleeve 100% cotton shirt. Closed toe shoes, leather boots are ideal. Don’t wear anything that you don’t mind getting dirty and possibly burnt. Bring safety glasses,leather gloves, welding helmet and welding jacket if you have them.

About the Instructor

Thomas Ramey is a metal artist who builds everything from large than life sculpture, to furniture, and high end architectural projects. Thomas has been working with metals for over 25 years. He started building odd sculptures with leftover pieces of steel around the machine shop, from his first job in an Indy car racing machine shop. Since 2001, Thomas has been actively showing sculpture around the United States through galleries and major art fairs from, Art Chicago, SculptMiami, Art Miami, and Art Hamptons in New York.
