About This Class

OVERVIEW: 

In this class you will learn the basic fundamentals of screen printing and it’s applications. We will cover how to create a stencil on a mesh screen using a variety of methods as well as how to set up and print on paper stock/fabric.  Everyone taking the class will be able to print and take home a HackerLab poster and tote bag!

*This class or similar experience will be a Prerequisite for Intermediate Screen Printing/Garment Printing

* All tools will be provided for this class

* Class fee includes a $10 materials fee

 

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Learn the screen printing process and how to start printing from your home on a limited budget.

We will cover:

-       The Basic Fundamentals of Printing

-       Applications of Screen Printing

-       Preparing Artwork/Stencil

-       Exposing a Screen using photographic emulsion

-       Setting up to print on flat stock

-       HANDS-ON PRINTING!

 

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS?       

Materials for this class will be supplied by the instructor.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting ink/paint on!                  

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Taylor Newbold has been screen printing out of his garage since 2004 and has a background in graphic design as well as music. He has designed and printed for bands/artist throughout Sacramento and has been printing professionally at local print shop ‘Zen Threads’ since 2016.
