Christian Posta - How to avoid a service mess: solving microservices problems with Istio

Come one and all to the exciting event of the century! Christian Posta, is back from his Safari in South America's deadly amazon country.
Much more exciting than wresting Anaconda and Alligators in the Amazon is discussing proper communications between microservices. So Christian will be making a one time ever stop in Sacramento to show us what he's learned in his travels.

Building useful services across our collection of existing applications, microservices, and now functions, we see a common theme: services must be able to communicate with each other, and solve problems like service discovery, load balancing, policy enforcement, security, and others. Service mesh is technology that has emerged in container-based environments to help solve some of these problems, but it's not exclusive to container-based deployments. In this talk, we'll explore the motivation for service mesh, what it is, and how and open-source service mesh like Istio.io can help solve difficult application-networking problems in a services architecture.

Hope to see you all there.
